Poem Post: Bubble Idiot
Bubble Idiot
Bubble Idiot
Some modest satire
By Frederick Alimonti
I’m a bubble idiot.Headphones glued to earI stumble through odd spacesYour voice I do not hear.My connections disconnect meMy music shuts you outI said, I cannot hear you!So seriously, why shout? I’m a bubble idiotI cannot read your faceSo just shoot me a textAn emoji will replace The droop of your neckThe glint in your eyeThe curl your lip-They pass me right by. I’m a bubble idiotI walk, my screen in handWith all my worldly searches,I just don’t understand The beauty that surrounds meThe miracles great and smallI overload my sensesAnd don’t see them at all. I’m a bubble idiotI’ll die in it aloneAttached to tubes and wiresAnd feeling quite at home.
